AP govt to hold workshops to increase quality of Spandana programme

Amaravati, Sep 17 (UNI) The government of Andhra Pradesh will conduct workshops at state level on 24th and September 27 to increase the quality of addressing the Grievances during 'Spandana' Program.

Municipal Commissioners, MROs and MPDOs will attend the workshop which will be organised under the auspices of Chief Secretary. The main aim of the workshops is to motivate the officials to solve the issues submitted in Spandana Program on humanitarian grounds.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting here on Tuesday at secretariat and told that the District Collectors should participate in the workshops to motivate and boost the morale among junior officers. Two more workshops would be held at District level in October.

The Chief Minister directed officials to give importance to Social Audit in Village Secretariat. He told the officials to display the details of white card holders and beneficiaries of pension scheme on the boards in Village Secretariats along with the details of beneficiaries of Welfare Schemes.

The Chief Minister reviewed the financial assistance scheme to provide RS 10,000 to Auto, Taxi and Maxi cab owners and held a review on Acceptance of Applications, Scrutinization and sanctioning of financial assistance to them.

He directed the Officials to complete data collection and verification of the beneficiaries of the Housing Scheme by September and to complete the survey of the existing land by October and to start procuring additional required land for housing scheme in November.

About 5.3 crore people would be benefited through “YSR Kanti Velugu” scheme, he said. The Chief Minister said that “YSR Kanti Velugu” scheme would be implemented in six phases. First phase would be from October 10th to 16th.

About 70 Lakh students would undergo eye test in first phase. The second phase would be held from 1st November to 31st December. The remaining phases would be implemented from 1st February 2020. Officials told the Chief Minister that they would identify the people in the first phase and would provide treatment accordingly.

Government allotted Rs.560 crore for YSR Kanti Velugu scheme to provide screening tests, distribution of eye glasses, conduct of cataract surgery and other programs.
