AP govt to develop 3-4 industrial parks: Goutham Reddy

Sri City (Chittoor), Feb 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Industries, Mr Mekapati Goutham Reddy, on Friday said that we are planning to develop three or four large industrial parks on the benchmark created by Sri City, Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

”Under the new industrial policy, to attract more investments into the State, said Mr Goutham Reddy said at the sidelines of the inauguration of Toray Industries india’s production unit here.

Appreciating the initiatives taken by Sri City management in developing such a large industrial park and creating large employment opportunities in a backward area, the Minister impressed with the infrastructure and industry-friendly ambiance of Sri City.

During his visit, the minister went round the industrial park and visited the production units of Foxconn and MSR Garments and interacted with the workers.

Interactive with the CEOs of unit and noted some of the issues related payment of incentives, the Minister urged them not to get misled with the misconception on the policy of employing 75 per cent local’ and explained the government plans for developing quality workforce by imparting skills through training.

The minister had a meeting with a delegation of Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).

Earlier, Sri City Founder Managing Director Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, gave a detailed presentation on the world-class infrastructure and the brisk pace of development of Sri City.

Member of Parliament Mr B Durga Prasad, Director of Industries Mr J Subramanyam, Chittoor District Collector Mr Bharath Gupta and a host of senior officials of State Government were present in the meeting.
