AP: East Godavari district records 1270 new cases

Kakinada, Aug 7(UNI) East Godavari district on Friday recorded as many as 1270 new Covid positives on Friday with both the cities of Kakinada and Rajahmundry maintaining their lead with 268 cases and 144 cases respectively, official sources said.
Among the rural mandals Amalapuram was leading with 83 cases, followed by Pithapuram and Samalkot with 44cases each and Gollaprolu 42 cases . Kakinada rural reported 41 cases , U Kothapalli 39 cases, Pedapudi 28,Karapa 23,Kajuluru 22, Peddapuram 21,Pamarru 20 cases ,Mandapet 19,Gokavaram and I Polavaram 18 cases each, Maredumilli 16, Devipatnam, Chintur, Kadiyam and Ayinavilli 15 cases each.
The district administration has notified only three new containment clusters and allowed 60 cases for home isolation, the sources added.
