AP CM releases White Paper on agriculture, allied sectors

Amaravati, Dec 26 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the agriculture and allied sectors have registered 11 per cent average growth rate for the past four and half years despite of deficit rain fall against 2.4 per cent growth at All India level.
Releasing a "White Paper" here on Wednesday on the Agricultural growth in the past four and half years, the Chief Minister said the state faced severe crisis in agricultural sector during 2014 and Anathapur district has been experiencing drought conditions for the last two decades. The central government failed to extend cooperation to state to implement farm loan waiver scheme. He said the state government had given top priority for agriculture growth in the past five years by spending Rs.82,000 crore to boost economy, he informed.
Mr.Naidu said that despite of adverse situation, the state government allotted major chunk of its budget towards agricultural sector and doubled the income of farmers in the past four years. The state government provided water and seed security to farmers. The state government allotted Rs.19,070 crore towards agricultural sector during 2018-19 budget.
