Amaravati, Jan 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party National President N Chandrababu Naidu expressed doubts on the accuracy of functioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and announced that he would approach the Election Commission of India along with the leaders of 22 political parties soon to raise the issue.
The Chief Minister, addressing party leaders through teleconference here on Tuesday, referred the international cyber experts opinion that the EVMs could be tampered. He said that the cyber experts had shown evidences on how could the EVMs be tampered.
Mr Naidu said that there should not be any such doubts among leaders and voters on EVMs in a democratic system. Doubtful democracy would be detrimental to the democracy, he opined. He claimed that 120 countries are not using EVMs in elections and only 20 countries are using EVMs.
