AP CM enquire with officials about gas leak incident, directs them to provide best treatment to victims

Vijayawada, Jun 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy enquired with the officials about the gas leak incident, which took place at a pharmaceutical company in Visakhapatnam in which two people were killed, and directed them to provide best medical treatment to the four employees who fell ill.
A statement from the Chief Minister's Office said here on Tuesday that Mr Reddy ascertained the details about the gas leak incident from the officials.
The officials told the Chief Minister that the gas leak incident took place in the Sainor Life Science Private limited company located at Paravada village near Visakhapatnam at around 11:30 PM on Monday night and it was happened due to leakage in a pipeline.
The officials apprised Mr Reddy that two employees died when they were being shifted to hospital and four others are undergoing treatment in a hospital.
As a precautionary measure, the pharmaceutical company was shut down after the incident.
Visakhapatnam Collector Vinay Chand and Commissioner R K Meena visited the company and ordered an inquiry into the incident.
Official sources here said that the gas leaked when it was being sent to the reactor.
Shift in-charge Ravi Narendra (33) and Chemist Gouri Shanker (26) died after inhaling the gas while Suryanarayana, Chandra Sekhar, Janaki Rao and Ananda Babu who fell ill were shifted to a private hospital in Gajuwaka.
The condition of Chandra Sekhar was said to be critical and he was shifted to the KGH hospital where he was being put on ventilator support.
Mr Meena told media in Visakhapatnam that an FIR is registered on the negligence of the management in taking preventive measures in the company.
The Commissioner reminded that two people were killed in an explosion in the same company which took place in a reactor two years ago.
The company management did not allow the media inside the company this morning and a large number of police personnel were deployed.
CITU District Secretary Satyanarayana demanded Rs.50 lakh compensation to the bereaved families.
