Kakinada, May 24 (UNI) At least 20 Police personnel were injured on Tuesday after an angry mob pelted stones at them in Amalapuram town, known for communally highly volatile, after Konaseema Sadhana Samithi (KSS) took out a rally opposing renaming of the district after Dr B. R. Ambedkar in defiance of the prohibitory orders.
The injured included two Circle Inspectors (CI), three Sub-Inspectors while the Deputy Superintendent of police Madhava Reddy fainted.
The trouble started when police tried in vain to obstruct the rally from proceeding towards the Collectorate from Kalasam center.
