AP: All party committee allege conspiracy to close down Kakinada anchorage port

Kakinada, Dec 7 (UNI) The Kakinada all party committee has alleged a great conspiracy was being hatched to close down the age old anchorage port in the name of PDS rice illegal exports and announced its decision to oppose the conspiracy tooth and nail and protect the interests of thousands of port workers.
The all party round table meet held at Kacheripeta Lakshmana Bhavan here on Saturday with CITU district president Duvva Seshu Babji presiding, has further alleged that the present exercise of government was aimed at dispensing with PDS system and introduce direct cash transfer to the accounts of ration card holders. The government was getting prepared to close down the age old natural anchorage port for the sake of political interest. For this purpose it was showing the PDS rice illegal export as a pretext and trying to force the direct cash transfer scheme on the poor people, 'the meeting alleged.
CITU national vice president G Babyrani, Kakinada port labour union leader Thalatam Virababu, IFTU state vice president J Venkateswerlu, civic welfare association leader Dusarlapudi Ramanaraju, Rythu Coolie sangham leader Rajababu, INTUC Kakinada president Thalluri Raju spoke criticizing the government for its sinister move.
