Anti-Bru settlement movement in Tripura: Tribals launch agitation seeking justice for lynched fireman

Agartala, Nov 24 (UNI) Tribal based organisations and political parties of Tripura including ruling BJP’s ally in the government IPFT spread the agitation across the state demanding immediate arrest of the accused persons involved in the killing of fireman Biswajit Debbarma during anti-Bru settlement movement on Nov 21 at Panisagar.
The local tribals observe dawn to dusk general strike in Karbok sub-division of Gomati district of South Tripura today seeking justice for Biswajit. They held a rally in Karbok market last evening to press for their demand. Allegedly, the protestors pelted stones targeting Mizo families lodging in a private school campus. They allegedly ransacked two shops run by non-tribals in the market and a truck.
