Annual Combined Commanders conference in Dehradun attempt by BJP, PM to reap political benefit in Assy polls: Rawat

New Delhi, Jan 19 (UNI) Terming the holding of the Annual Combined Commanders conference in Dehradun on January 21, an attempt by the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reap political benefits in the Assembly polls for Uttarakhand, state chief Minister Harish Rawat today said it was a violation of the Election Commisison’s direction that a level playing field be provided to all political parties.
Addressing a joint press conference along with the Uttarakhand PCC chief Kishore upadhyay, Mr Rawat said, ''The Election Commission has said that governments must provide a level playing field for all political parties. On January 21, there is a well publicised Annual Combined Commanders conference being organised in Dehradun.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will be present in the event. This is being publicised politically as well. The Commanders Conference will be widely publicised, as will the PMs participation. This can impact the elections. This is a violation of a level playing field. This is against the directives of the Election Commission.’’
