Anjum Moudgil grabs silver at ISSF

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) India's Anjum Moudgil won silver medal in women's 50m rifle three-position event in the International Shooting Shooting Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Mexico, taking the Indian medal tally to eight.
With this, the country has retained its number one slot in the charts.
On the sixth day of the tournament, which is going on at Guadalajara of Mexico, Anjum grabbed her first medal in the ISSF World Cup. In the final, Anjum won the silver by scoring 454.2 in the finals and secured second place.
In the 45th round, China's Ruijiao Pei captured gold with a score of 455.4, while his compatriot Ting Sun won a bronze with a score of 442.2.
This is the first silver medal of India in the World Cup, after securing three Golds and four Bronze medals.
Anjum slipped to the third place after 15 shots in the finals, but in the 5-shot prone position series, she again took the lead. Later, she managed lead by 0.9 points from world number one German player Jolin. However, in the last 10 shot series, she slipped again to fourth.
The Indian shooter, however, made an edge with her best score of 10.8 on 41st shot and reached number two. Anjum won the silver with a score of 10.2, 10.1, 9.5 and 10.2.
Three finals are slated for Saturday- the Men's 3P, the Women's 25m Pistol and Women's Skeet- while the World Cup concludes on Sunday, with the Men's Skeet final.
