India


Anil Wadhwa is India's next envoy to Italy

New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) Anil Wadhwa, who was Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs, was today appointed as India's Ambassador to Italy.
An IFS officer of 1979 batch, Mr Wadhwa is expected to take up his assignment shortly, the Ministry said here today.
He will be replaced here by Ms Preeti Saran, who was serving as India's ambasador to Vietnam.
Mr Wadhwa had taken over as Secretary East in January last year.
