Anganawadi & CPI(M) workers stage dharna against Karnataka Govt opening UKG & LKG in Govt Schools

Kalaburagi May 27 (UNI) Members of the Anganwadi Teachers Association and CPI (M) workers today took out protest march and sat on dharna in front of Deputy Commissioner's office in protest against Karnataka Government's decision to start LKG/UKG classes in government schools instead of starting of such classes in Anganawadi Centres.
Addressing the members Association State President Shanta Ghanti said that the State government's decision has affected the interests of 70,000 Anganawadi workers working at various Centres in the State and the government should reconsider its decision and allow LKG/UKG classes be started in Anganawadi Centers run by Women and Child Department and thus interests of the workers can be protected.
She threatened to intensify the agitation if the State government fails to withdraw its decision.

'Jihadi activities' growing in Karnataka : Jagadish Shettar
