Andhra Cabinet clears state drone policy

Vijayawada, Nov 6 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Wednesday gave the nod to a drone policy designed to form a State Drone Corporation to utilise the technology for accelerating emergency and other services.
Briefing mediapersons after the Cabinet meeting, the Minister for Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathi said the state is moving fast towards transforming Andhra into a drone hub.
He said the state has decided to set up a Drone Development Centre at Kurnool to achieve this goal. Stating that the centre to be set up at Kurnool will be on plug-and-play system, he said a training centre for drone pilots and a drone manufacturing unit also will be established there.
