Andhra: 125-bedded special isolation ward opens in East Godavari

Kakinada, Mar 21 (UNI) With the opening of 125-bedded isolation ward here at Bommuru near Rajahmundry, all the hospitals in this district would work round the clock to contain the spread of novel coronavirus pandemic, East Godavari District Collector said on Saturday.
Holding a video conference with the field level officers from Collectorate here on today, Mr Muralidhara Reddy said that the virus is mainly spreading through foreign returnees, adding that out of 1,700 people who have recently returned from Italy and Dubai, 25 are suspected to have contracted the virus and are currently being treated.
Ensuring that no gathering takes place in the district, he said that special teams comprising of revenue, police and endowment departments would supervise and ensure no pompous arrangements and gatherings anywhere during the Ugadi festival.
