Andaman to be converted into green energy efficient Islands by 2018: LG

Port Blair, Sep 15 (UNI) The newly appointed Lt. Governor of A&N Islands, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has said that by 2018, the entire A&N Islands will be converted into green energy efficient Islands by utilising solar generated power and other eco-friendly power generating sources.
Addressing a gathering at Bambooflat area of South Andaman, the Lt. Governor recently highlighted the commitment of the Centre to establish renewable sources of energy, including solar, wind, tidal waves and hydraulic energy, to meet the power requirements of the Islands.
He said that the work for 20 MW solar plant has already been initiated in these Isles.
