Andaman becomes Authorized Immigration Check post, decision welcomed

Port Blair, Jan 03 (UNI) Home Ministry's decision to declare Veer Savarkar International Airport as an authorized Immigration Check post for entry and exit point from India for all classes of passengers with valid travel documents, has been welcomed by people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The Andaman and Nicobar administration had taken up various measures to facilitate better and seamless connectivity. This decision of the Central Government will open up the Port Blair Airport for direct international flights and immigration facilities.
According to Andaman Administration sources, efforts are being made for early operation of international flights from the Veer Savarkar Airport, Port Blair and also extension of e-visa and visa on arrival facilities.
