Bengaluru, Nov 12 (UNI) Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr H N Ananth Kumar who died at the age of 59 due to cancer in the city today, was known for his meteoric rise in the national politics, but his deep roots in RSS and sheer handwork in serving the BJP proved to be the stepping stone for his fame.
Mr Kumar, the six time Lok Sabha member from Karnataka ever since 1996, rose to fame due to his die-hard party loyalty and during emergency he was jailed in Bengaluru along with BJP stalwarts like L K Advani and others, as a budding politician and ABVP leader, gave him the break he needed to become the national leader.
Born in a middle class Hubballi family, to H N Nayaran Shastry and Girija Shastry on July 22, 1959, he graduated in law from Karnataka University.
