Bengaluru, Feb 21 (UNI) Leona Noronha, father of Amulya Leona, who has been remanded to judicial custody for shouting pro-Pakistan slogans, on Friday demanded strict punishment for his daughter, while Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa alleged that she may be having links with the Naxalites.
Reacting immediately after she was remanded to Judicial Custody, Mr Leona said he never expected that his daughter would violate the country's Constitution again, after the Mysuru incident.
'Since she is not listening to me or behaving properly, she should be punished as per law and the action should be very severe. I beg pardon from public, but will never approach any Advocate to represent her in the Court for release on bail or to fight against charges," he told newspersons here on Friday.
"I am not feeling well, I asked her to come home, but she is not listening to me. Though she is 18 now, but she is still behaving as an immature girl. I hope in prison she corrects herself, after realising her mistakes."
Replying to a question, he said "She was studying very well and getting distinction in her subjects. She was very good at studies till Second Year in BE.
'I cannot understand what happened suddenly and who provoked her to behave in such a manner, violate the law and shout pro-Pakistan slogans."
Meanwhile, Fifth ASMM Judge Siran J Ansari, before whom Amulya was produced after her arrest on Thursday, remanded her to 14-day judicial custody for shouting pro-Pakistan slogan at a Freedom Park during a protest meeting.
Speaking to newspersons at the Airport in Mysuru, Mr Yediyurappa alleged that she may be having links with the ultras.
'Ms Amulya's links with the Naxalites have been proved in an investigation. She must be punished and action will be taken against those, who are provoking such youngsters,' he added.
