Amritsar tragedy: SAD blames Congress, demands ouster from power

Chandigarh, Oct 21 (UNI) The Shiromani Akali Dal on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the ruling party in Punjab for the tragic train accident in Amritsar, stating that Congress government had no moral right to remain in rule after the incident, which killed around 60 people and left many injured.
Expressing profound grief over the tragic incident, SAD leader Ravinder Singh Brahmpura said the state government had completely failed to offer the best medical treatment to the people, who continued to be in a critical condition at the hospitals and that the Congress government in Punjab was entirely responsible for the death of innocent people, who were celebrating Dussehra festivities with their.
The former MLA from Khadoor Sahib constituency pointed out that the amount of Rs five lakh declared by the Punjab government to the next of kin as compensation was extremely meagre and it should be increased by up to Rs one crore and a job should be provided to one family member of the deceased.
