New Delhi, Aug 19 (UNI) BJP president Amit Shah today welcomed the JD(U) for formally joining the NDA, saying this will usher in a new era of development and progress in Bihar. 'I welcome the resolution passed by the JD(U) for joining the NDA," Mr Shah tweeted shortly after the JD(U) national executive meet put its seal on the decision. "This will not only strengthen the NDA but a new era of development and progress of Bihar will begin," Mr Shah said. The JD(U) formally joined the NDA and passed a resolution to this effect at its national executive meeting held in Patna. With the entry of JD(U) in NDA, the possibility is high that it will join the NDA government at the Centre as well. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had dumped the grand alliance on July 26 and joined hands with the BJP-led NDA to form a new government in the state. Mr Kumar was invited by the BJP president to embrace the NDA during his recent visit to New Delhi. His decision to part ways with alliance came after differences with RJD chief Lalu Prasad over the demand for resignation of the latter’s son and Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav in the wake of the corruption charges against him and his sister Misa Bharati.
