Amit Shah unveils Veer Savarkar's statue in Andaman and Nicobar Islands

New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) Paying tribute to Veer Savarkar after unveiling his statue in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Friday, union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Savarkar's life inspires everyone to have boundless love for the motherland and sacrifice for the nation.
Shah said that honors and civilian awards are bestowed upon great personalities by the governments, but in case of Savarkar, the title 'Veer' was given by the people, which simply shows his acceptance and value among the people, the HM added.
Shah said that Savarkar was a writer, poet, a fighter and a patriot, and such a person will not be born soon in the times to come, he added.

SC seeks report from panel on deficiencies in Manipur relief camps
