Hyderabad, Mar 27 (UNI) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Senior Vice President G Niranjan demanded that Home Minister Amit Shah apologize to the people of Telangana and the Congress party for making false statements about the history of the state.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Niranjan criticized Shah for distorting history and accusing the Congress party of ignoring the martyrs who fought against the Nizam and for the merger of Hyderabad state into the Indian Union. Niranjan said that Shah's false statements were made to misguide the people and demanded an apology from him.
On Sunday, Mr. Shah unveiled a statue of Sardar Patel in Gorat village in Bidar district of Karnataka. On the occasion he accused the Congress party of neglecting the martyrs who fought against the Nizam. Niranjan clarified that the Congress had built statues of Sardar Patel and memorials for the martyrs during their tenure, and accused the BJP of resorting to false propaganda and Goebbels-style publicity.
