Amit Shah's comments against Rahul reflect his frustration:Cong

New Delhi, Sept 25 (UNI) Slamming the comments made by BJP President Amit Shah against party vice president Rahul Gandhi, the Congress today said the comments reflected his frustration over the failure of the NDA Government on all fronts. Talking to reporters here, AICC spokesperson Manish Tewari said,'Amit Shah's comments against Mr Rahul Gandhi reflect his frustration over the failure of the NDA Government on all fronts. In the last 40 months of its rule at the Centre, the BJP-led Government has failed to fulfill promises made during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.' 'Today there is social disharmony across the country. The situation in the Kashmir valley has deteriorated. On the diplomatic front too this Government has been a total failure. In the last 40 months that Mr Narendra Modi has been the Prime Minister, it has been proved that the NDA does not know how to govern the country.' He said the mismanagement of the economy was reflective of the policy paralysis that had gripped this Government. 'This Government has failed to deliver on the commitments that it made to the people of the country. It is this frustration that has led them to indulge in polarisation,' Mr Tewari said. On Shah's statement that Mr Gandhi had sullied the image of the country abroad, Mr Tewari said, 'Mr Amit Shah is perhaps not aware of the Prime Minister's statements all over the world that damaged the reputation of the country. Till 2014, there was a consensus that the domestic issues would not be raised abroad. However, this has been broken by the PM through his comments during his foreign visits. If now, the BJP is reaping what it has sown, I do not think that Mr Shah should be shedding crocodile tears.' Seeking to defend the comments made by Mr Gandhi during his address at the universities of California and University of Princeton, Mr Tewari said,'What Mr Rahul Gandhi said in Berkeley and Princeton is exactly what the media has reported in the last 40 months. There is nothing untrue in his statements. Also, with the world today being increasingly globalised, boundaries cannot stop the flow of information.' UNI AR AE 1435
