Lucknow, Jun 27(UNI) BJP president Amit Shah reached here today from Haldwani in Uttarakhand to commence the party's second leg of booth level conferences in the run for Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls early next year. UP BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya along with other leaders received Mr Shah at the Charbagh railway station at around 0540 hrs this morning, said state party spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak, who was also present to welcome the president at the station. Mr Shah drove directly to the state party office from the railway station. The BJP president had participated in the state executive meeting of the Uttarakhand BJP at Haldwani yesterday. Mr Shah today will hold the third booth level workers meeting here in the adjoining Barabanki for the crucial Awadh region. Mr Shah along with party's UP in-charge and vice-president Om Mathur and state president Keshav Prasad Maurya, would address over 30,000 booth workers in 14 districts of the Awadh region at the GIC college ground in Barabanki at 1200 hours, Mr Pathak said. This would be the third such booth level conference addressed by Mr Shah ,with earlier conference held at Kanpur for the Bundelkhand region on June 4 and at Kasganj for the Agra region on June 7. Mr Pathak said that the BJP president will address the fourth booth level conference of the western region in Meerut on June 30, of Gorakhpur region in Basti on July 1 and of Kashi region at Jaunpur on July 2. Mr Shah will again come to Mau in Eastern UP on July 9 to address a public rally. It is likely that a small political outfit Bharatiya Samaj Party led by Om Prakash Rajbhar could merge with the BJP. After the booth level conference at Barabanki, Mr Shah will attend a programme organised by a national hindi daily in the evening in the state capital and later will leave for New Delhi in the night.
