Amit Shah likely to meet flood-hit families of North Bengal

Kolkata, Oct 7 (UNI) union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is scheduled to arrive in Siliguri tomorrow for an official programme, may also visit the flood-affected families of North Bengal and call on two injured party leaders who are recuperating in a Siliguri hospital.
The Home Minister’s trip comes barely a day after Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju toured several flood-ravaged areas in North Bengal today, underscoring the growing national focus on the devastation in the region.
Large parts of North Bengal were battered by incessant overnight rain on October 5, compounded by gushing waters from the Bhutan hills, leaving widespread destruction in its wake.
