Amit Shah calls BJP workers to uproot Cong from Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Apr 22 (UNI) BJP national president Amit Shah today urged his party cadre in Gujarat to look at forthcoming Assembly polls in the state as an opportunity to uproot Congress and “throw it away”. “The Congress dubbed us worthless. Now we have to ensure that they become invisible. This is an opportunity to uproot it,” Mr Shah said while addressing party cadres on the second day of the two-day BJP state executive committee meet held in the temple town of Somnath. Describing the ruling party as “invincible”, Mr Shah said the BJP today ruled in 17 states of the country, covering almost 72 per cent of the geographical area. “The BJP was criticized and termed as a party of the affluent and limited to urban areas. The party that had 10 members once, today has over 10 crore members. For last three years, BJP has won everywhere it has contested,” he added. He urged the party workers to continue the development journey. “You should create a favourable atmosphere so that Narendra Modi does not have to rush down to Gujarat.” Mr Shah attended religious ceremony at the Somnath Mahadev temple. He also had a closed door meeting with the top BJP leaders in the state regarding the party's strategy for upcoming state assembly elections. The party’s executive meet had on its first day resolved to fulfill the Prime Minister’s target of winning 150 plus seats in the state assembly. UNI ND PY SHK 1853
