Amazon launches India data centre in Mumbai

Mumbai, Jun 28 (UNI) Amazon Web Services (AWS), leading cloud computing platform, has launched its first data centre in India.The data centre is part of its USD5-billion investment in the country. The Mumbai data centre, which is AWS' new Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Region, joins Beijing, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo as the sixth AWS Region in Asia and the 13th worldwide, bringing the total number of AWS Availability Zones to 35 worldwide. The new Mumbai region is currently available for multiple services including Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), and Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS).
