Amazon Bazaar records 5X growth in TN

Chennai, May 14 (UNI) Amazon.in on Thursday announced that Tamil Nadu has emerged as one of the fastest-growing States for Amazon Bazaar as orders from the State have increased 5X YoY, with the teeming megapolis of Chennai leading the charge with a 2X increase in new customer sign-ups.
Other top cities from the State include Vellore, Madurai and Tiruchirapalli.
With products starting at Rs 99, free delivery, convenient returns and cashback offers on over three crore products, Amazon Bazaar has become the preferred destination for budget-conscious shoppers seeking ultra-affordable selection across fashion, home, kitchen and electronic accessories.
Across the State, there has been a surge in demand across categories, with Women’s Fashion growing 2X YoY, Home and Kitchen growing 5X YoY and Electronic Accessories growing 1.5X YoY. Top selling products include sarees, kurtis, jeans, kitchen utensils, home décor items, electronic accessories such as cases, covers and chargers, reflecting a customer base that prioritizes both affordability and style.
Addressing a press conference here, Sameer Lalwani, Head - Amazon Bazaar, Amazon India said “Tamil Nadu represents a significant growth State for Amazon Bazaar. Tamil Nadu alone is home to more than 1,00,000 sellers on Amazon.in, including over 1,700 sellers who are a part of Amazon Bazaar which saw a 2X YoY increase in sellers, expanding product selection and enabling local businesses to reach customers nationwide.
To deliver on the promise of fast and reliable delivery across the State, Amazon has strengthened its operations network in the region with 7 fulfilment centres, 4 sortation centers and nearly 1,600 Hub Delivery Partners, ensuring seamless last-mile connectivity even in smaller cities and towns.
Looking ahead, Amazon Bazaar is committed to deepening its presence in Tamil Nadu by enabling more sellers in the State to sell online, expanding selection in regionally popular categories such as Women’s Fashion and Home and Kitchen and extending last-mile delivery deeper into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
