Amarinder to fight Badal from Lambi, Sidhu gets Amritsar East, Bittu to take on Sukhbir in Jalalabad in Cong 4th list

New Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh is all set to file his nomination papers against SAD heavyweight Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal from Lambi on Wednesday with the Congress high command clearing his name for the seat this evening, while announcing tickets from six more seats and changing the nominees from four others.
Former BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu, who joined the Congress party yesterday, will contest from the Amritsar (East) Assembly seat while Punjab PCC Chief Amarinder Singh will take on state chief minister Parkash Singh Badal from Lambi.
As per the list, cleared by the Central Election Committee of the Congress and released by AICC General Secretary Masdhusudan Mistry, the party’s star campaigner, cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu will fight from Amritsar East in place of his wife, who had earlier been shortlisted for ticket from the constituency.
