Amarinder launches development projects worth Rs 29.03 cr in Patiala

Patiala, Jan 25 (UNI) In a bid to provide ultra-modern housing facilities to the people, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday laid the foundation stones of development projects worth Rs 29.03 crores, to be executed by Patiala Development Authority (PDA) under the fourth phase of urban estate at village Falauli.
The new urban estate, registered under Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) to be developed over an area of 76 acre adjacent to the Punjabi University, would be linked through a 60 ft wide road from Sadhu Bela road, under the land pooling scheme from land owners. According to the layout plan, 445 plots have been carved out, of which 348 are residential and 97 commercial. The PDA has already allotted development works worth Rs 23.34 crores and the entire project would be completed by April 30, 2020.
Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated ‘Atal Tinkering Laboratory’ (ATL) and an e-Library at the local Government Multipurpose Senior Secondary School at a cost of approximately Rs 25 lakhs Out of this, Rs 12 lakh would be provided by Niti Aayog and the remaining from local funding. The objective of ATL is to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds, besides inculcating skills to develop designing mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc. Under this unique programme, the students would learn the Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, Drone Making, Do-it Yourself, Bio-Technology & Electronics.
