Amarinder announces cancellation of university exams

Chandigarh, Jul 4 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Saturday announced cancellation of university and college examinations in the state in view of the Covid pandemic, though the exams that are currently being conducted online by some universities will continue uninterrupted.
In his weekly #AskCaptain Facebook Live session, Capt Amarinder said university and college students will be promoted on the basis of their previous years’ results. However, students who want to improve their performance will have the option to taking a fresh examination later, once the Covid crisis is over.
Universities and colleges are in the process of working out the modalities for implementing the decision, he said, adding that the decision would be announced in the next few days.

Bhopal, Nov 29 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed satisfaction on Sunday over the rate of novel coronavirus infection declining in the state owing to ceaseless endeavours.
“Earlier; approximately 1,800 fresh cases were being reported daily but that figure has declined to the vicinity of 1,500. However, greater alertness is imperative vis-à-vis Indore and Bhopal districts where containment zones have been demarcated,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying during a review meeting.

4 babies die on single night at govt hosp

Shahdol, MP, Nov 29 (UNI) The District infirmary administration has gone into a tizzy after four infants died at the Special New-born Care Unit on the intervening night of November 26-27.
Civil Surgeon VS Bariya attributed one of the fatalities to pneumonia but denied any negligence on part of the hospital staff.

Jyotiraditya to meet MP CM

Bhopal, Nov 29 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party stalwart and Rajya Sabha Member Jyotiraditya Scindia is scheduled to meet Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday during a visit to the state capital.
Sources said that the erstwhile central minister will arrive here from Delhi by air in the morning. Subsequent to the key meeting, the former parliamentarian shall depart for Orchha to attend a programme and then return to the national capital via Gwalior.
