All set for Republic day fete without usual tableaus, colourful stalls: EG Collector

Kakinada, Jan 20 (UNI) East Godavari Collector D Muralidhara Reddy has said that the republic day would be celebrated this year with all glitter conducting a ceremonial police parade except the presence of tableaus of various departments and colourful stalls.
Mr Reddy told media persons that arrangements were being made on a large scale at the police parade grounds which are getting ready for the mega event. As scheduled, he said , the celebrations would commence on Tuesday with unfurling of the national flag by the collector followed by colourful parade with contingents of armed reserve police , civil police, home guards and NCC cadets participating in their ceremonial uniform amid playing of national anthem by the police band troupe.
After inspecting the guard of honour presented by them and receiving the salute, the collector would address the audience giving out a brief account of the ongoing developmental and welfare activities in the district. There will be patriotic cultural programmes presented by the students of various schools and presentation of appreciation awards to the officers and staff of various departments in recognition of their meritorious services.
