All security arrangements put in place for independence day : DG

Srinagar, August 14 (UNI) Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Dilbag Singh on Sunday said all security arrangements have been put in place for the smooth conduct of Independence Day function which would be celebrated on Monday.
“All security arrangements have been put in place for the smooth conduct of Independence Day and wherever the technology (Drones) is required to strengthen it would be utilized accordingly”, DGP Singh told media persons on the sidelines of Tiranga Walkathon held in Srinagar on Sunday.
He said the vigil on the borders is very tight which makes sure that there would be no infiltration. “some attempts were made in between sbut all their attempts were thwarted”, DGP said.
“The situation on the borders has been improved and tightened under control”, he added.
The DGP said as Pakistani handlers failed in sending militants through routes due to strict vigil by the security forces on the borders, "they are sending drones this side to drop arms and ammunition which has become a challenge and we are well equipped to thwart this challenge”.
He said the big modules who were involved in destabilizing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir have been neutralized.
“Pakistan is still trying to send militants from across to infiltrate this side and the trend is still continuing”, he said and added “but our security forces are capable of thwarting every attempt”. A large cache of arms, ammunition and narcotics were seized by the security forces, these were left behind by the infiltrating militants on the borders.
He said, small children who are still innocent are being radicalized to involve them in “hybrid” terrorism which they (Pakistan) have started. “They are forcing young children to indulge in terrorism activities after radicalizing them which makes their road closed to return to normal life”.
The DGP said “we are happy that a number of children who had moved on the bad path but police and security forces have successfully brought them back and reunited them with their families”.
“The recruitment of the youth in the militancy has decreased, ' he said and added “there is need to further put a stop to it and our security forces are on the job”.
He said the infiltration has gone down similarly the recruitment of youth in militancy has also decreased and has downed the graph of militancy.
“There is a lot of pressure for the local Kashmiri youth who are staying on launch pads near the Line of Control (LoC) and those who have spent a lot of time in camps in Pakistan are being pushed to infiltrate”, The DGP Singh said.
The DGP congratulated the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the whole of India on the 75th year of Independence Day being celebrated Monday. He said “we are celebrating the occasion for the past one week and the celebrations would continue after Independence Day also”.
