All projects will be completed to provide water to Rayalaseema: AP CM

Ananthapur Jan 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the government is committed to complete all the irrigation project in the Rayalaseema region to do away water crisis and develop Smart Water Grid to tackle water crisis.
Addressing a public meeting of Janmabhoomi-Ma Vooru in Dharmavaram on Thursday, he said that Telugu Ganga, Galeru, Nagiri projects were started by late N T Rama Rao. He was happy to announce that he completed the project. The government aimed to interlink Godavari-Krishna-Vamshadara-Penna-Nagavali rivers in the coming years to tackle the water crisis, he announced, claiming that he had taken steps to fill up all the irrigation tanks which were dug up during the time of Sri Krishnadevaraya rule.
“We constructed Pattiseema project with an aim of providing water to Rayalaseema. A smart water grid will be developed to tackle future water needs. The government has taken steps to develop Rayalseema as horticulture hub” he said, highlighting that the government is encouraging natural farming the state. By providing water to the Gollapalli reservoir, the establishment of Rs.12,000 crore Kia car factory was metealized in the district, he said, adding that the district would witness rapid industrial development in the coming years. The Chief Minister announced that the Handri Neeva and PABR canals would be widened.
The Chief Minister said that the government set a target of providing Rs.10,000 income to every family and implementing happy index to gauge the happiness of common men and the poor. The Chief Minister directed district Collector to take steps to fill up Madakasira tank before the beginning of Lepakshi festival, February 24. He also directed him to invite tenders for the construction of BTP and Perooru projects before Paritala Ravi death anniversary.
Interestingly, the Chief Minister delighted with the oratory skills of a little girl Akshya, who spoke about Chandrababu Naidu and welfare schemes. The Chief Minister announced that Rs.50,000 would be deposited in fixed in the name of the girl. He informed that Rs.4,537.47 crore worth benefits were given away to the 2,42,66 beneficiaries during the Janmabhoomi programmes in the state.
Earlier, in the morning, the Chief Minister landed at Puttaparthi airport and went to Bukkapatnam tank by road. He performed Harathi and pooja the brim-full irrigation tank. He also unveiled a pylon on the occasion. Ministers D Umamaheswara Rao, Paritala Sunitha, Kalva Srinivasulu, MP J C Diwakar Reddy, former minister Palle Raghunath Reddy and host of MLAs, MLCs and other leaders were present.
