All-party meet demands state govt to call special Assy session

Chennai, Nov 29 (UNI) All-party meet called by the opposition DMK party on Thursday demanded state government to call a special Assembly session to pass resolution to cancel permission given to Karnataka by the union Government to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Mekedatu Balancing Reservoir-cum-Drinking water project across river Cauvery.
The meet also demanded to the state government to bring pressure to the union government to cancel the permission on the Mekedatu issue and also file a case before Supreme Court through legally to stop further any work in Mekedatu.
The all Party meet was attended by besides DMK leaders including M K Stalin, Vaiko (MDMK), V Anburaj (Dravidar Kazhagam), S Thirunavukkarasar (Congress), Balakrishnan (CPI-M), R Muttharasan (CPI), K A M Muhammed Abubakkar (IUML), Thol Thirumavalavan (VK) and Abdul Samadh (Manitha Neya Makkal Katch).
