Patna, Oct 17 (UNI) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today asserted that all houses would be electrified by the end of 2018 and all villages by the end of this year. Speaking at a function organised by a private news channel, Mr Kumar said the state government was making consistent efforts to improve power situation in the state. Mr Kumar said that his government would leave no stone unturned to electrify all households by the end of 2018 and all villages by the end of this year. Chief Minister said the condition of roads in the state was very pathetic before his government was formed in 2005. He said that not only emphasis was given on constructing new roads but also road maintenance policy was prepared for repairing damaged roads. Mr Kumar said the state government had also fixed the target of reducing travel time from any part of the state to the state capital to five hours after it attained the target of reducing travel time to six hours. The chief minister said when he had assumed power in 2005, 12.5 percent children had no access to school education but now the figure had reduced to less than one percent due to the consistent efforts by the state government. He said that schools were not visible in adequate number earlier but now schools were the common sight in the state. MORE UNI DH BM
