(Rpt correcting headline)
Lucknow Oct 12 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav has announced to contest the up coming 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Kannauj constituency.
Mr Yadav had made his political debut from Kannauj Lok Sabha seat in 1999 and later he also won from this seat in 2004 and 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
Presently his wife Dimple Yadav is MP from this seat.
Meanwhile, son of Samajwadi Secular Morcha founder Shivpal Yadav, Aditya Yadav is also in the fray and has challenged his elder cousin brother Akhilesh to contest and win the general elections from Kannauj.
Aditya Yadav, presently the chairman of Pradesh cooperative federation (PCF), is gearing up for electoral politics and trying his level best to garner support and uplift Samajwadi Secular Morcha which is in nascent stage.
In this process, the ''Ankur Bhaiyya'' as he is known among the youngsters is promoting the party's ideologies and urging them to fight against social injustice and communalism.
Aditya Yadav who is emerging as a political expert has expressed confidence that his party secular Morcha would not be defeated in Akhilesh's bastion Kannauj.
“Samajwadi Secular Morcha will field a strong candidate in Kannauj. We will win even if Akhilesh Yadav contests from Kannauj. We will announce our candidate soon. Barring Mulayam Singh Yadav’s seat, we will field candidates on all the seats,” said Aditya Yadav who is also the director IFFCO (Indian farmer’s fertilizer cooperative).
Sharpening his attacks on SP, Aditya said, “The 'samajwad' (socialism) of the Samajwadi Party is slowly dying. We do not make our strategies sitting in air-conditioned rooms like them. We believe in working at the grassroots level among the people.”
Shivpal Yadav’s son also attacked the Yogi Adityanath government saying that the law and order situation was in shambles in the state.
