Ajay, Naresh, Kaavya and Vanshika move into finals

Chandigarh, Sep 20 (UNI) Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) trainee top seed Kayva Sawhney sailed into the finals of girls under-18 singles in the ongoing CLTA-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament for Boys and Girls Under-16 and 18 at the sector 10 Tennis Stadium here on Thursday.
Kaavya Sawhney defeated Reetika Grewal in straight sets. In the first set, Kaavya was leading 5-4 and serving for the match. Kaavya committed double fault in the ninth game. Reetika broke again Kaavya's serve and made it 5-5.
After 5-5, Kaavya played in a top form and took the next two game points and went on to win the set 7-5.
In the second set, Kaavya came back strongly and maintained her game in a top form. Kaavya won the the set easily 6-1.

In the another semifinals, second seed Vanshika Chaudhary defeated Ashpreet Kaur Bajwa 7-5, 6-2 to set a final summit clash with Kaavya in the girls under-18 singles category final on Friday.
Mehkhala Manna defeated Shreya Chakraborty 6-3, 6-1 in the girls Under-16 singles semi-finals. In the another second semifinals of the girls Under-16 singles, top seed Vanshika Chaudhary defeated Suryanshi Tanwar 6-1, 6-1.

Ajay Mailk advanced into the final of both the singles boys under-16 and 18 categories.
In Boys under-18 singles semifinals top seed Ajay Malik defeated Drona Walia 6-3, 6-4. In Boys under-16 singles Semifinals, Malik upset top seed Sushant Dabas in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.

Seventh seed Naresh Badgujar of CLTA defeated Karan Singh in straight sets 6-3, 6-1. Naresh Badugjar will play against Ajay Malik in Boys under-18 singles finals on Friday. Aditya Baleskar also moved into boys Under-16 singles final.

The singles Finals matches of Boy’s and Girl’s under-16 & 18 and Boys U-18 doubles will start at 08:30 a.m. on Friday, the 21st September, 2018.
