Kolkata, Dec 4 (UNI) All India Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has already vowed to unseat the BJP from power in Goa in the next year's assembly poll there, is likely to fly to Panaji early next week to boost the party's preparedness in the grassroots in the western Indian state.
Party sources said the TMC chairperson this time would take her Diamond Harbour MP and AITC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on her visit from December 13 onwards to keep the party's momentum, which began during her first visit in October.
The 40-seat Goa assembly is expected to go to poll in February 2022.
The AITC is also considering an alliance in Goa to produce a big challenge to the saffron brigade there, and if that is not fructified, the AITC would contest all the 40 seats.
The AITC is actively considering setting up a state committee for the poll preparedness from grassroots, and December month is the best suited as the entire state will be in a jubilant mood
to celebrate Christmas.
Ms Banerjee during her last last visit to Goa had already promised some reforms for all round development of the local people including increasing the subsidy for fishing community there
up to Rs 75,000 from Rs 30,000.
