Lucknow, Sep 24 (UNI) Bhati Airtel, one of the country's largest telecommunication service provider, on Monday announced a massive network roll-out plans for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The roll-out plans have been done with the aim of enhancing customer experience as well as expanding high speed data and voice services to deep rural pockets.
As a part of its network expansion plan, Airtel has launched project LEAP in the financial year 2018-19 to deploy more than 17,313 new mobile sites along with 6650 kms of fresh optic fiber across the two states.
Airtel's Chief Executive Officer(CEO) UP and Uttarakhand Shailendra Singh told media here on Monday that with new plans the Airtel network in UP and Uttarakhand will increase by 40 per cent from 43,219 sites to 60,532 sites by the end of the current fiscal.
"Besides the additional fresh optic fiber would extend the company's fiber backbone in the two states to 26,800 kms in the region supporting the growth of high speed data services," he added.
Mr Singh said," We will continue to invest aggressively in the region and take out network capabilities to the next level, ably backed by a scaled up and strengthened infrastructure."
"As the leading mobile service provider in the country, we are glad that we are able to contribute significantly towards the government's vision of Digital India with our enhanced speed, reach and coverage," he further added.
Airtel has over 49.6 million customers in UP and Uttarakhand with covering 983 towns and 1,24,515 villages.
