Airtel announces free voice calling, data benefits and extended SIM validity in Vadodara

Ahmedabad, Aug 3 (UNI) Bharti Airtel, India’s largest integrated telecommunications services provider, on Saturday launched free voice calling and data benefits for all its customers residing across flood hit Vadodara district in Gujarat.
COO Gujarat, Bharti Airtel Navneet Sharma said that due to incessant rains and flood like situation in Vadodara, Airtel was extending special benefits to customers to support the relief efforts of the administration.
With an aim to enable customers to stay connected to their loved ones without worrying about recharging or bill payment, Airtel has enabled all its mobile customers in the region to get free talk time (Airtel to Airtel) credit and data benefit of 100MB in their accounts along with an extended SIM validity, he further said.
For Postpaid customers the bill payment dates have been extended, and Airtel’s network teams in the region were working overtime to ensure that the network connectivity was normal across affected areas, he stated.
''We want to do all that we can to contribute and support the efforts of the government and the administration in this hour of calamity. This initiative is a step in this direction with which we want to ensure that our customers can easily stay connected at all times given that the mobile phone is an important lifeline for millions especially at this time.The benefits will be auto credited to the accounts of the mobile users and customers will be updated via an SMS notification so they can make the most of the additional benefits. Customers can enjoy the free talktime credit to make free Airtel-to-Airtel calls'', he further stated.
Vadodara city and parts of the district were facing severe floods which was caused by extremely heavy downpour of around 500 mm in a single day on July 31.
Bharti Airtel had a few days back also announced similar measures to help its customers in all the 30 districts of flood-hit Assam.
