AIMPLB to file review petition against SC verdict on Ayodhya

Lucknow, Nov 17 (UNI) As expected, All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on Sunday decided to file a review petition against Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya issue.

The board also rejected the apex court order in which they granted 5 acres of land under Article 142 for a new mosque saying it was against Shariat and Waqf law.

In a working committee meeting held at the Mumtaj College here, the Board members unanimously resolved to file a review petition against the SC judgement which they termed as contradictory.

Maulana Sayeed Kasim Rasool Ilias, member of the AIMPLB and Board lawyer Zafaryab Jilani told reporters that the meeting attended by majority of the 49 members raised 10 questions on the judgement which they claimed were contradictory.

However, the main litigant, UP Sunni Central Waqf Board boycotted the meeting.

The Board announced that at least three Muslim litigants would file their the review petition within the stipulated 30 days time after the judgement.
