AIMIM rules out tie-up with BJP–NDA in Maharashtra

Hyderabad, Jan 17 (UNI) AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday categorically ruled out any political alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Maharashtra, signalling the party’s intent to chart an independent political course in the state.
The statement comes on the back of AIMIM’s siginificant gains in the Maharashtra municipal corporation elections held on January 15, where the party secured 125 wards across key urban centres, including Aurangabad, Amravati, Malegaon, Nanded, Solapur, and Parbhani.
The party won 125 seats across 13 municipal corporations, a sharp jump from the 56 wards it secured in the previous civic elections in Maharashtra state.
