AIIMS specialist to come to Guwahati for ex-CM Tarun Gogoi’s treatment

Guwahati, Sep 25 (UNI) A specialist doctor from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, will be coming to Guwahati for the treatment of former Assam CM Tarun Gogoi, who was re-admitted at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) here yesterday in a critical condition within a few days after being discharged following recovery from COVID 19.
A team of specialist doctors of GMCH who are supervising Gogoi had a video conference with the director of AIIMS, Dr Randeep Guleria, this morning, which was also attended by Assam Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and Gogoi’s son Gaurav Gogoi, who is a Lok Sabha member.
Dr Sarma later told reporters that a specialist from AIIMS will be sent to the GMCH within 2-3 days to oversee the treatment of the ex-CM, who is currently on oxygen support in the ICU.
