AIDWA anguished over shortage of food items in PDS outlets

Shimla, Jan 16 (UNI) The All-India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA), Himachal Pradesh State Committee, on Thursday strongly criticised the government for the inadequate supply of essential commodities, including edible oil, under the Public Distribution System (PDS).
In a press statement issued here AIDWA secretary Falma Chauhan stated that the committee expressed concern over the government’s failure to ensure timely availability of food supplies, leaving the poor and marginalised in a difficult situation.
The association highlighted issues with the misuse of eKYC by the Food Supply Department, where ration cardholders are being threatened, their names removed from the system, and their ration cards blocked.
