AICC summons 6 probable contenders for Himachal Cong president post

Shimla, Nov 6 (UNI) The suspense over the appointment of a new Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president appears to be nearing its end. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has summoned six key contenders for the top post to Delhi for a high-level meeting on Wednesday. Party insiders indicate that the final decision on the new state Congress chief could be made within the next week.
National Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will chair the meeting at 9:30 am, which is being convened at the request of Rahul Gandhi, who may also attend, sources said. The meeting is expected to be followed by one-on-one discussions between Kharge and the contenders before a final name is announced.
The six leaders called to Delhi include Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Assembly Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar, Theog MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore, Palampur MLA Ashish Butail, Kasauli MLA Vinod Sultanpuri, and Bhoranj MLA Suresh Kumar.

New UP BJP President to be announced on Sunday, election process to start tomorrow

ED raids 25 locations linked to UP cough syrup syndicate

Lucknow, Dec 12 (UNI) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today launched extensive raids across six cities as part of its money-laundering investigation into the illegal trade of codeine-based cough syrup in Uttar Pradesh. Beginning early in the morning, ED teams conducted searches at 25 locations connected to the suspected syndicate in Lucknow, Varanasi, Ranchi, Ahmedabad, Jaunpur and Saharanpur.
