Agriculture Today: The voice of farmers

New Delhi, Jul 16 (UNI) On the occasion of Ninth agriculture Leadership conclave held here in the capital, Agriculture Today Group President Dr M J Khan said his organisation has been battling to raise the voice of farmers for many years.
Dr MJ Khan, Chairman, Indian Council of Food & Agriculture (ICFA) said "We should create an ecosystem where Production, Market, Value Addition, Exports - all to be taken into consideration.
Also, we need to concentrate on post production policy."
According to PRS legislative research, India’s production of food grains has been increasing every year, and India is among the top producers of several crops such as wheat, rice, pulses, sugarcane and cotton. It is the highest producer of milk and second highest producer of fruits and vegetables.
Representatives from policy making bodies, agriculture societies, agriculture institutions, agribusiness industry and farming community participated in the Conclave.
Focusing on the farmers income Mr Ashok Dalwai, CEO, NRAA said Food security has become basic need of the hour and we cannot tie farmers to food security, otherwise farmers won't get benefit out of it. How climate change can be mitigated and agricultural can be made a win-win venture.
As part of the Conclave, 9th Agriculture Leadership Awards 2019 were also given away at the hands of Kerala Governor Justice P Sathasivam and Union Agriculture Minister Sh Narendra Singh Tomar. Sh Suresh Prabhu, Member of Parliament and former Commerce and Industry Minister, one of the awardees was also present on this occasion.
Agriculture Leadership Conclave is an annual affair which is being held every year by Agriculture
Today Group and this is the ninth edition of the Conclave.
