New Delhi, Feb 14 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Friday slammed the Department of Telecommunications for coming out with a notification saying there should be no coercive action against telecom companies for not paying Adjusted Gross Revenue despite its orders.
A bench, headed by Justice Arun Mishra, warned that it would initiate contempt proceedings against telecom companies and govt officials for not complying with it's order to recover about Rs 92,000 crores, from the telecos.
In strong terms, Apex Court expressed its displeasure over the way the AGR amount was not paid to the Central government.
