Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Dec 30 2016 3:15PM AGP reiterates opposition to citizenship on basis of religionGuwahati, Dec 30 (UNI) In a covert opposition to Centre's move for granting citizenship to persecuted religious minorities from neighbouring countries, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), which is an ally of the BJP-led coalition government in Assam, today reiterated that it will oppose any move to grant citizenship to any foreign national on basis of religion. “The AGP will never accept any decision to grant citizenship to any foreign national based on religion,” AGP president and state Cabinet minister Atul Bora said, addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here.
